Thing 2 - Reflecting on the 7 1/2 Habits

My hardest obstacle in terms of the Seven 1/2 Lifelong Learning Habits has been learning to view problems as challenges. I sometimes get overwhelmed by the enormity of accomplishing my goals--and my anxiety can be paralyzing. It helps when I break down my goals into smaller steps, so progress can be measured along the way. I like the incremental aspect of this challenge. Byte-sized morsels of learning are just my speed. And I like the idea of trying to retrain my mind to see "problems" as opportunities to learn rather than crises. I've learned some excellent lessons in life from "mess-ups."

As far as the easiest habit goes, I guess it would be creating my own learning toolbox. Anytime I try my hand at a new pastime or skill, I really enjoy finding the right information or "gear" associated with it. Whether it's books, websites, or tangible items, the toolkit gathering phase is my favorite. My storage closets stuffed to overflowing are evidence of past toolbox successes!
