Go to ListenNJ and download a book of your choosing onto your computer (use a PC Plus computer at work) and listen to some of the book to make sure everything worked.
PC Plus is in hot demand at my branch, so I'll have to complete this exercise from home. I've used ListenNJ in the past, but not as often as I'd like since the audio format isn't currently compatible with iPod. It's great for learning languages and for listening to stories during long drives. When I get home, I'll update the software, download a book and report if there are any difficulties.
UPDATE (5/21/08):
Now I'm really done. Last night after several attempts to download the new version of Windows Media Player, I successfully checked out two audiobooks of interest. Woohoo! All ready for the new mp3 player
